From breathing new life into century-old heritage buildings to crafting modern spaces that actually work with nature instead of against it - here's what we've been up to lately. Each project tells its own story, and honestly, some of 'em were pretty wild rides.
Vancouver, BC • 2024
1892 Victorian home that was honestly in rough shape when we got it. Spent 18 months bringing back the original character while sneaking in modern systems.
North Vancouver, BC • 2023
Net-zero office complex that the client initially thought was impossible on their budget. Turns out passive solar design and smart orientation save a ton of cash down the line.
Whistler, BC • 2023
Alpine home built with locally-sourced timber and designed to practically disappear into the landscape. The engineering on the cantilevered deck still makes me grin.
Yaletown, Vancouver • 2024
1910 brick warehouse turned mixed-use space. Had to fight tooth and nail to keep those original timber beams exposed, but man, they're the star of the show now.
Kitsilano, Vancouver • 2023
Three townhomes on a tight lot that everyone said couldn't be done. Rooftop gardens, solar panels, and each unit gets killer natural light despite the narrow footprint.
Granville Island, Vancouver • 2024
Farm-to-table spot where we used reclaimed wood from an old barn in Abbotsford. The owners wanted rustic but refined, and honestly I think we nailed it.
New Westminster, BC • 2022
1887 chapel that needed serious structural work. Matching the original stained glass was probably the toughest part - found a craftsman in Ontario who could replicate the technique.
West Vancouver, BC • 2024
Floor-to-ceiling glass facing the ocean, but engineered to actually keep heat in during winter. The trick was triple-glazed units with argon fill - costs more upfront but the energy savings are legit.
Don't just take our word for it
"They saved our 1892 home when two other firms said it was beyond repair. The team found solutions we didn't know existed and kept the soul of the house intact. Worth every penny."
"Our office building is getting compliments left and right, but more importantly, our energy bills dropped by 60%. The Krythveil team knew exactly how to balance aesthetics with real performance."
"Working with this crew felt more like collaborating with friends who happen to be brilliant architects. They listened to our crazy ideas and somehow made them work within budget and code."
Whether it's breathing new life into a heritage building or designing something totally fresh, we'd love to hear what you're thinking.
